Fun events keep donations rolling in for St Michael’s Hospice

St Michael’s Hospice has hosted a whole host of fantastic events over the last month, culminating in the annual charity ball, the Glitter Ball at Bannatyne’s Hotel on Friday November 1st.

With over 200 people enjoying live music from The 1066 Rockitmen, the evening, was full of glitz and sparkle and raised over £5,000 for the Hospice.

This week the Hospice saaid a special thank you to Just Property the event sponsor and to the other companies who helped support the event to help make it such a success; Bows Hire, Bookers Wholesale, Web Photo UK and Rainbow Faces of Enfield. The Hospice has also announced next year’s charity ball date, Friday November 27th, and the theme will be a Masquerade Ball.

Other events in October, including the spooky Pumpkin Trail on Saturday October 26th raised £1,288.

Community Fundraiser, Laura Sully, said: “Over 350 people attended the event and we are so thankful to everyone who came along to support the hospice. A big thank you to all our volunteers and to Tesco for their incredible donation of costumes and gifts to sell on the day. Keep your eyes peeled for next year’s event date. Special thanks go to the event sponsor Arthur C Towner”

Finally, The Big Sing on Saturday October 12th, saw 16 local singing groups and choirs perform in aid of the hospice at St John the Evangelist Church on Brittany Road and raised over £4,000, with sponsorship still coming in from the choirs.

“We would like to thank St John the Evangelist Church, Father David and Tina, all the wonderful choirs that took part in the event, all the visitors for donating so generously, all of the hospice volunteers, and Lorraine from Rother Community Choir for conducting the finale. It was a fantastic day and we look forward to next year,” Laura said.
